House of Commons first reading New Clause— Driving with Illegal Drugs (09.10.06)

First reading of a new clause which would have meant that 'A person who when driving or attempting to drive a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road or other place is found to have traces of an illegal drug in his body shall be guilty of an offence.' The clause did not get enough votes for second reading.

House of Commons Debate Private Members Bill (25.02.05)

This debate concerned a private members Bill tabled by Nigel Evans (con) who won the privalege in the annual lottery. The Bill proposes to impose mandatory 7 year sentences for third time dealing offences, mandatory prison sentences for those convicted of dealing drugs to a minor and setting up a commission on the health harms associated with cannabis use.
