The half hour programme, which includes a report on Portugal (where personal posession of all drugs has been decriminalised), is available to view online at the BBC website If Page .

Also on the BBC 'If' pages is an article arguing in favour of legalisation by Danny Kushlick, Transform Director, with the counterpoint provided by David Raynes from the National Drug Prevention Alliance (both featured in the If documentary).

 

Transform on Newsnight

A special edition of NewsNight (BBC2) was broadcast on Wednesday January 12th 2005. The programme was studio debate on drug legalisation that followed the 'If drugs were legalised' drama/documentary (and is available online: see above).

The studio debate, chaired by Jeremy Paxman, featured:

  • Danny Kushlick , director of Transform Drug Policy Foundation
  • Keith Hellawell , UK Drugs Czar 1998-2002
  • Andrew Johns , forensic psychiatrist at the Maudsley Hospital
